A lifetime of service. A future we build together.
MEGA grew from a commitment to help families access the skills, support, and opportunities to shape their own futures. That commitment has guided our work since 1986.

Rev. Dr. Gerald Austin Sr. grew up in Birmingham as one of nine children raised by a single mother. After building a career in engineering, he returned with his family to serve the community that shaped him.
The Center for Urban Missions was founded in 1986. Its work connected education, youth development, employment training, and family support. MEGA carries that history forward for urban and rural communities.
